How to use this index
This price index is built from live quotes provided by verified rice suppliers listed on PingB2B across eight major Indian trading cities. Use it to benchmark your procurement costs, compare city-wise rates, and identify the most competitive sourcing regions for each variety.
Prices shown are wholesale ranges as quoted by suppliers for bulk orders. Actual rates vary with:
- Order quantity (larger MOQ = lower per-kg rate)
- Packaging type (PP woven, jute, vacuum-sealed)
- Delivery location and transport mode
- Seasonal supply fluctuations (new crop arrivals in Oct-Nov typically lower prices)

Methodology & limitations
Price ranges are compiled from active listings and quotes provided by verified suppliers on PingB2B as of the first week of August 2026. We exclude outlier quotes (top and bottom 5%) to prevent distortion. Prices may not reflect spot-market rates at APMC mandis, which fluctuate daily. For live quotes against your specific quantity and delivery location, submit a requirement and receive competing offers within 24 hours. Prices are verified through GST portal checks and direct supplier submissions.
Frequently asked questions
How often are these prices updated?
Monthly. We refresh price ranges from active supplier quotes across all 8 cities during the first week of each month. Check back in September 2026 for updated rates.
Are these prices inclusive of GST?
No. All prices shown are excluding GST. Branded/packed rice typically attracts 5% GST (HSN 1006). Add transport and loading costs to your landed price.
Why do prices vary so much between cities?
Three factors: proximity to growing regions (Kolkata is closest to West Bengal paddy, so parboiled rice is cheapest there), local demand (Delhi pays premium for Basmati as the export hub), and transport costs from mill to mandi.
What is the typical MOQ at these prices?
500 kg to 5 tonnes for premium varieties (Basmati, Sona Masoori). 10-25 tonnes for commodity grades (IR 64, broken rice). Export container-load (20-25 MT) attracts the lowest per-kg rates.
